shanghai

I love Shanghai.

Would you believe that it will only cost you PHP 8,417.00, roundtrip to Shanghai?

Thanks to Cebu Pacific, I will be able to go back to that wonderful place again, minus the heartbreaking price tag!

Just a few months ago, February to be exact, I was able to go to Shanghai to visit Kaths and Diana who travelled on a 12-hour train ride from Beijing to Shanghai to meet up. They studied in Beijing for six months, and they travelled to Shanghai just for us, and of course, enjoy all of China! ( such a lovely place, such a lovely place. :P ) It was a wondrous place, and the weather was oh-so-fine! The chilly atmosphere brought about the about-to-end winter there was wonderful, I just couldn’t forget the sudden chill Cristine and I felt as we got off the plane - that day, February 5, 2007, was the coldest day in Shanghai that year! We almost froze to death that night for everyone was on the lookout for taxis, and it took us two hours to find one! ( With me, almost a statue, with bonnets pulled down my head up to my eyebrows and ear muffs that made me look really weird ).

Going back, last February, the ticket cost us about 19,000 php, plus about a few thousands for visas and 1600 travel tax. Sigh. Past is past, at least I can go to Shanghai again, to brush up my Mandarin ( it is a must to know the language there ), get lost in that area ( drivers there…well, have no sense of direction ), go back to Qing Pu for priced down designer items, and taste those delicious xiao long pao from Din Tai Fung, and caramelized strawberries again! Diana can actually give rest to her frustration. Well, it’s because when we visited Shanghai, the night lights were just gorgeous, and we were eyeing for a picture with the beautiful, well-lighted Bund as the background. Little did we notice that it was almost 10pm already. Just as we started posing, all the lights slowly died. Diana’s face could not be painted that night. No one would even dare approach her! Haha! Gosh, Diana, let’s have that picture this time!

Memories of Shanghai :

Bwahahaa! the super fashionista Soph with her boots, shades, and cool jacket! Who could ever forget our mishaps with the taxi drivers?! We even left one with one big load of a problem! His door smashed by a moving motorcycle, thanks to me! bwahaha! And the most memorable one, Diana’s face at the bund! No lambing could make her smile! Hahaha! Anyway, that will be our reason to go back to Shanghai! And go to the Bund on our first day!!! =)

If I ever get there my wife probably won’t allow me to go to that Hooters place. I mean, I’m a sucker for Chinitas, and from the looks of it, it appears to be Chinita fantasy land!

*covers eyes and mutters “see no evil! see no evil! see no eviiiiiiil!!!”*

Been wanting to travel to Shanghai, too. But maybe I have to lose a few pounds before I go so I have room to gain weight. All that yummy food!!!

[…] for the second time ( and I intend to travel next year to that wonderful place again ) and went to Shanghai for a business trip mixed with pleasure as I visited my girlfriends who were studying in Beijing. […]
